Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Promotion Corporation was established on September 1,2005,in order to prepare for the new graduate university.

The selected fields of research cover a number of core disciplines such as, bioscience, chemistry, computer and information science, engineering, mathematics and physics. Additional multidisciplinary studies which integrate the core disciplines, such as biosystems, will be developed.
