Formulation of a Private-Sector-Led Self-Sustainable Economy
■ For health bio-industries and environmentally related industries, support measures are being implemented to promote the expansion of new business in these areas. Regional industry activation is being promoted and an environment where active and adventurous business entrepreneurs can expand their creative activities to the fullest extent is being proactively created.

Establishment of Start-up Business
■ (1) To promote the research of bioactive substances through the analysis of subtropical biological resources, which utilizes the most advanced biotechnology etc;
(2) to work towards the differentiation of health products and the heightening of the added value;
(3) to enhance the development of new health products.

Promotion of Scientific Technology
■ Aiming to establish a center of academic research and exchange in Okinawa, Okinawa Prefectural Government fully consolidates the maintenance of research organizations and research development functions. It also actively promotes the research development in fields such as IT, biotechnological, environmental and food industries.

Strategic Expansion of Okinawan Industries.

　①In order to establish a private-sector-led self-sustainable economy, it is important for our prefecture to strategically promote relatively competitive industries, the so-called “Okinawan Industry” that makes use of Okinawa’s regional characteristics.

　②Out of all Okinawan industries, the government is placing focus on bio-related industry and health service industry, and is working on expanding strategic measures as well as promoting the establishment of new industries.

　③In order to strategically strengthen Okinawan industries, it is necessary to promote various research developments that utilize regional technology and fundamental research strategies/ findings to the utmost extent. Thus, support will be provided for research development on the promotion of industry-academia-government collaboration and bio venture industries.

　

　④In order to provide industries with support for their research development and demonstration experiments, we will work on improving the incubator facilities of Okinawa Health Bio-Technology Research Development Center etc.
